Afro-Brazilian Drum Circle

Led by Percussionist and Composer Nick Birmelin
Wednesday, January 17 from 7:30-8:30pm

Learn the proper hand technique to play congas (or atabaque) and work toward developing a sense of how multiple parts work together to construct different Afro-Brazilian rhythms with roots in Congo and Angola. Other percussive instruments such as the Agogo (Bell) and Caixixi (Shakers) will be introduced and we will learn their function and importance to the music.

$15 per person with your own drum; Add $5 to rent a drum
